If the engine is automatically recognized by the app, you don't need to set the engine code.
Otherwise you can try each engine group and decide by yourself the best one depending on how many parameters can be read.
Of course you can ask me for an advise.

Thanks for the recommendation. But unfortunately it doesn't work. The vehicle seems to communicate, the icons turn green, but then an error message comes up. I've attached a picture. How should I proceed? Thank you very much for your help.

It probably belong to the new TDI family with 29-bit initialization protocol instead of 11-bit of the previous ones.
I've had the opportunity to analyze this new protocol one time the last year, but to implement a new initialization protocol in the app I need to have a car available for days for test.
The requests about these new engines increase every day, this activity is getting urgent.

I can't schedule the activity because I don't have any new car available.
Already asked to friends and rental companies near to me, but without success... They all own at most 2-3 years old cars, not newer.
I keep searching and asking.

Wouldn't it be possible to rent a car directly from a volkswagen dealer? They usually allow this. I am able to participate financially if necessary. Thanks

I asked some years ago and the answer was no, but I retry again, maybe something's changed.

Unfortunately, bad news from the dealer: they don't rent the car for test, they only give a temporary car in case of long repairs, but almost always those cars are already assigned.
I keep searching.
Thanks for your offer using your own car, but I'd need to have the car available for days or probably for weeks (it's a new protocol, it's quite impossibile to predict the time needed) to make many test in parallel to the code writing. It ain't a matter of few hours.
