Hi,
Just bought the software and I’m in love with it! I now can understand why my van is doing some things…
I also found that my Output Gas Temp Sensor is reporting 6510 Celsius degrees… van is a MAN TGE 2019 with DAVA engine. I then read my work van, a 2015 Caddy and it has the sensor, also stopped an Amazon guy using a Crafter 2020 (also DAVA) and also is sensor was read without problems, so I thought that my van has the sensor but it has some error.
Is it possible to know what sensor is it in the VW code? (G235, G448, G495,…) or something to locate it and change it? I checked on internet and disconnected the wiring I suppose it was, but I was wrong, I disconnected the input gas temp, not the output…

I don't know exactly the matching between the sensor number and the sensor description. This information is usually available in the SSP document, but I don't have it for your engine.
I can give you some information about the CXHA engine, that shares the same engine group in the app so could be similar.
Attached you can see the exhaust line of the CXHA in which the sensor positions are:
According to this information, the output gas temperature sensor of the app corresponds to the sensor 4 - G450 -.
But I repeat, this is for the CXHA engine, so take it as a suggestion.
I can give you some information about the CXHA engine, that shares the same engine group in the app so could be similar.

- 19 exhaust gas temperature sensor 1 - G235 -
- 17 exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 - G448 -
- 14 exhaust gas temperature sensor 3 - G495 -

According to this information, the output gas temperature sensor of the app corresponds to the sensor 4 - G450 -.
But I repeat, this is for the CXHA engine, so take it as a suggestion.

I have just taken delivery of a brand new Crafter with DAVA engine. The DPF output gas temperature is consistantly reporting high at 6513 C even though a regen is not underway. Any suggestions?

It's an error in the formula.
I added DAVA engine following a feedback of an user that has SW 04L906056SE/9793 and HW 04L907445P versions.
You engine has different versions so it probably has a slightly different diagnostic setup. It's not the first time I see that.
Did you already check if some other engine group has a correct temperature value?

Thank you for replying. I checked all of the engine groups plus "read from ECU". Some engine groups give no data. Engine groups 15,18,20 and "Read from ECU" show a DPF output temperature of around 6,500 degrees C . Engine groups 5, 13, 14 and 19 don't show the "DPF output temperature" but they do show the "DPF surface temperature" and that data appears to be correct. see attachment image ...

Without a double check, we can only suppose what's the correct parameter and related formula.
I could try to correct the formula, but we can't be sure that the parameter is definitely the output gas temperature, it could be another temperature because the setup is different from any other group. Unfortunately, the parameters don't have a name embedded in the ECU, they can be checked using the hex PID. The value you see in groups 15,18,20 can be a different parameter, also not a temperature.
Anyway, the output gas temperature value stays below 300°C driving slowly, near 350-400°C driving in highway and between 550 and 650°C while the regeneration is in progress. If you find a multiplier or divider to apply to the shown values, I can correct the formula.
I suggest to save and check some logs to make this analysis.
Otherwise another solution is to use the DPF surface temperature instead.

A regeneration cycle began yesterday on a drive at 95kmph. This was not a new cycle, it was the continuation of a previous cycle which had not been completed. That cycle had been cut short at 65% so the regen started up again at 65% and I drove the vehicle until the cycle ended itself at around 20%. see the screen shots which can be sequenced by the time stamp.
This vehicle will pick up from the previous incomplete cycle and continue it on. This is an improvement over my previous CFCA engine T6 which i think would only initiate a regen when the soot reached say 98%. If the cycle was incomplete another regen did not occur until the soot levels reached 98% again which could create issues for anyone doing repeated short trips.
This DAVA engine initiates the regen cycle when soot levels indicated are around 80% and ends the cycle when levels reach say 20%. Below are the screen shots begining around 65% and ending around 20%. It appears that what is labled surface temp is actually the DPF Output Temp. This is using Engine (19) which unfortunately, unlike (15), does not show the measured soot mass.
It would be very satisfying if you were able to create a new Engine group (22?) for this DAVA engine that showed the Soot Mass Measured as it does in group (15), see screenshot set at (15) and relabled the Surface Temperature as the DPF Output Temperature. If you need any further data such as logs please let me know. I love this app, it is essential for anyone who wants to know what is going on in the engine. We are indebted to you for creating it. If more people used it there would be far fewer blocked DPF's and DPF deletes.

I agree, it's probably the case to split DAVA into 2 different groups.

Officially, Google doesn't allow all app to run in android auto system. Only certain kind of app can run, see here:https://developers.google.com/cars/design/create-apps
VAG DPF isn't in those groups.
I guess you're using the screen mirroring function in your picture, right?
You can switch to the horizontal layout for a better viewing.

This was not my picture. I found it on the web. There were no details on how it was done but I assume it is a screen mirror.
