Communication error

Post by Skudla » Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:33 pm

Hi,
i have VW Touran 1T3 2.0TDI 103kW motor code CFHC.
The application does not want to communicate with my vehicle.
But other applications work and read the data from the ECU. (Torque)
I have tried removing and re-adding both the app and the BT ELM327.
No change.
Could I ask for help?
Thanks

Old story ... Torque and many other apps use the OBD protocol that communicate using only 2 bytes instead of the full 7 bytes length of the ISO CANBUS protocol. My app, and all the official diagnostic testers, uses the full protocol and requires a good quality adapter.
Most of the low cost adapters in the market contain a cracked firmware able to communicate with 2 byte length packet, probably because they cracked just to make it working with the most of the mobile apps (that use ODB protocol).

This means that you need to use a good adapter like Carista if you want to see the app working.

Of course the engine must be supported, and your CFHC is in the list.
